Penny and Iona win by 4 points at Blakes

Cottesmore WinnersPenny Gaunt and Iona McKean were victorious at Blakes Golf Club to win the fourth NSPCC Ladies Golf Classic Regional Final.

They scored a fantastic 40 points on a day that was very difficult to score. As the West of the country basked in glorious summer weather, it was like a Autumn's day in Essex - cold, windy and very damp. But the ladies kept their spirits high and enjoyed a fabulous day all in aid of the NSPCC.

In second place were Chelmsford's Geraldine Rose and Eleanor Trigell with 36 points. Third place was a three way tie with the ladies from Aldwickbury Golf Club taking it with 34 points and 18 on the back nine.

Thanks go to all the ladies who took part and entered into the spirit of the competition and also to Blakes Golf Club for their warm welcome and for hosting the event so well. The ladies also helped to raise more money for the NSPCC in the raffle where one lucky lady took home Chloe purse and another won a complimentary four ball at Blakes with thanks to the club.
