Ormande Fields qualify for Grand Final

As a heatwave hit the South and East of England, the conditions in the North East at Pleasington Golf Club were perfect for the NSPCC Ladies’ Golf Classic Regional Final. The sun shone but a breeze ensured it did not get too hot for the 60 ladies competing to make it through to the national final.

The winners on the day were Kay Gough and Carol Simpson from Ormande Fields. They won with 40 points, just one ahead of second place Tytherington, who were presented by Mary Harris and Celia Stanley.

On behalf of the NSPCC, our thanks go to all the ladies who took part and entered into the spirit of the event. Clubs had already raised a substantial amount of money for the charity through holding their club qualifying competitions but ladies on the day helped to raise even more by generously taking part in the raffle and Algarve Golf Trophy Nearest the Pin competition.
